You’ll explore nonviolent responses to conflict and injustice with this interdisciplinary program. Consider questions of values and personal lifestyle, historical perspectives, conflict resolution, mediation, political theory, and social change. MU’s Peace Studies Program, with its distinctive emphasis on theoretical and applied nonviolence, will prepare you to work for justice in many ways. Concentration options include Interpersonal and Intergroup Conflict Studies, Religious and Philosophical Bases, International Global Studies, Social Inequality Studies and an individualized concentration that reflects your particular interests. Because Peace Studies is interdisciplinary, many students earn a second major in another department.
