We are incredibly pleased and fortunate to be partnering with FemFest 2010, a nationally recognized theatre festival of plays by women for everyone. With their support, conference attendees will have priority seating for a special presentation of playwright and dub poet d'bi young's highly acclaimed piece exploring identity issues “she”. Here is a brief description:
'she' is the first play in the labyrinth trilogy. it is an apocalyptic yet hopeful biomyth adventure critically commenting on the status of womben in today's world through the lens of gender norms, expectations and exploitations.
There is limited seating, so advanced notification of seat reservations will be required by September 1st - there will be a modest fee of $8 Canadian collected at the door to reserve your place at this highly anticipated performance, which will begin at 7pm and be followed by a discussion with the artist. After September 1st, these tickets will be offered to the public – d'bi young has toured all over the world with her work and her performances in Winnipeg are sure to sell out, so don't miss this great opportunity to see some of the best theatre you'll ever see - truly!
The performance will be held at The University of Winnipeg's CanWest Centre for Theatre and Film (400 Colony St.). TO RESERVE YOUR TICKET TODAY, PLEASE CONTACT CAITLIN AT: pjsainfo [ at] uwinnipeg [dot] ca.
